We assess the area, the likely volume and type of filler present, and the most appropriate dissolving approach for your specific situation. Hyaluronidase works only on hyaluronic acid based fillers — the most common type used in aesthetic medicine. If you are unsure what type of filler you have our team will discuss this with you at consultation. The dissolving process is straightforward. Hyaluronidase is injected precisely into the area containing the filler. The enzyme begins breaking down the hyaluronic acid immediately — most patients notice a significant reduction in volume within 24 to 48 hours. Full resolution is typically visible within one to two weeks. In some cases a second dissolving session is required for complete removal — particularly where large volumes of filler are present or where filler has been built up over multiple treatments. It is important to understand that dissolving filler also breaks down some of your natural hyaluronic acid in the treated area. This is temporary — your body replenishes its natural hyaluronic acid within a few weeks. We always advise waiting a minimum of four weeks after dissolving before considering any new filler treatment in the same area. Appointment time is approximately 45 minutes including consultation, treatment, and aftercare guidance. Some swelling and redness in the treated area is normal immediately after treatment and typically resolves within 24 to 48 hours.
