Tear Trough Filler
Reduce under-eye hollowing for a fresher, more rested appearance.
Service Description
Tear trough filler addresses one of the most common aesthetic concerns we see at Skin Lab Medispa — the hollow, shadowed appearance beneath the eyes that makes patients look permanently tired regardless of how well rested they actually are. The tear trough is the groove that runs from the inner corner of the eye downward along the cheek. As we age — and in some patients from a relatively young age due to genetics — this area loses volume and the overlying skin thins. The result is a hollow that catches shadow and creates the appearance of dark circles, tiredness, and often a significant discrepancy between how a patient feels and how they look. Tear trough filler is one of the most technically demanding treatments in aesthetic medicine. The under-eye area has a complex anatomy — thin skin, significant vascularity, and proximity to structures that require careful consideration. The difference between an exceptional result and a problematic one in this area comes down entirely to the experience and anatomical knowledge of the practitioner. At Skin Lab Medispa tear trough treatment is performed exclusively by our senior medical team with specific experience in this area. We do not delegate this treatment to less experienced practitioners. We use ultra-soft hyaluronic acid fillers specifically formulated for the delicate under-eye area — products chosen for their low water absorption, smooth integration, and natural appearance. The cannula technique is used at our clinic rather than needle injection wherever appropriate — significantly reducing bruising risk and improving the precision of placement. Not every patient presenting with under-eye concerns is suitable for tear trough filler. Patients with significant skin laxity, very thin skin, or prominent fat pads beneath the eye may achieve a better outcome through alternative approaches. Our consultation process is thorough precisely because of this — we will always tell you honestly if tear trough filler is not the right treatment for your specific anatomy, and we will suggest what is. What to expect: your appointment takes approximately 60 minutes including consultation, treatment, and aftercare guidance. The under-eye area is more prone to bruising than other treatment areas — some bruising and swelling is normal and should be expected for 5 to 10 days after treatment. Final results are visible at two to four weeks once all swelling has fully resolved. Results typically last 9 to 18 months depending on
